Pencil Wrapping Paper

Ever since I offered the printable wrapping papers in the shop, I have been fascinated by the many uses you all have given them!  But let’s be honest, in the ideal paper size for them (large format) it is not always easy to get yourself to Staples or any other office supply shop to print.

I have noticed bunches of BEAUTIFUL printable wrapping papers in small sizes around the web and on Etsy, that were practical for home printing.  But I was reluctant to use them because of how “small” the paper would be.  I mean…what uses can you possibly have for wrapping that small?  So I took the challenge of exploring this myself and have a concrete answer.  And you know what the results were?  Small wrapping paper IS really useful!  And to print on the fly without having to buy a new role of paper for a quick present, presented itself to be quite a total delight.

I needed to wrap a couple of teacher gifts.  One was a self inked stamp from the shop and the other was a cute stack of thank you cards.  Both of the items were small but not tiny (the cards came in a 5 x 7 x 1.5 box).  I made a pencil pattern for the wrapping paper and some matching black cards and also belly bands to wrap the entire gift.  The black cards were printed on a black and white laser printer and the pattern was printed on a home ink jet printer on regular copy paper (the cheap stuff) BUT (and very important, pay attention to this):  I made sure to set the printing quality to “highest” on the print dialogue window. Seriously–a beautiful, vibrant print on cheap copy paper.  I was super impressed on how awesome and satisfying wrapping these were.

I am making these available in the shop.  The belly band and cards have editable text boxes for personalization.

Oh and one tip!  I printed these on 2 letterhead sheets and added double sided tape (or you can use a tape roller) to join 2 sheets to make an 11 x 17 sheet for a larger wrapping paper zise !

new parent signature stamp

Today I ordered this stamp to be made for my daughter’s teacher. I thought it would be so cute as a self-inked stamp since teachers would use this all of the time.  Teachers can use this to make sure we (parents) clearly see if a paper they send home, needs a parent signature! I’ve made it available for purchase in the shop as a perfect end of the year teacher gift! Free shipping for all U.S. orders through May 31, 2015.  See this listing here on Etsy.

check out my temporary studio

So guys…I finally moved into our new home and we are pretty much settled in.  Finally. It has been a long 2 years searching for the perfect home but I can say it was worth the long wait.

So for the last 5-6 months I set up a temporary studio in my son’s “would be” bedroom.  The location inside the house where my “official” studio will be, is being remodeled. I actually thought I would be staying in the temporary studio for a while longer, but my 3 year old son had other plans….he kind of kicked me out a couple of weeks ago!  Can you believe it?  He no longer wanted to bunk with his sister and demanded a Minion themed bedroom…. immediately!

My son has his Minion room now, and is quite happy in his own space .  I have a few photos of the temporary studio to  show you.  Some of the photos are from my Instagram account (which by the way…are you following?) and all are taken with various phone cameras. Please forgive the inconsistencies in color/lighting throughout the post photos.

So I get to this all over again and set up another studio.  I will be sharing photos of the new studio  a few months down the road.  Some of the photos have some notes for you.  Enjoy!

I had 2 desk stations in the studio.  One for packing orders and the other (where the rainbow cloud is) for freelance work.

For me, storing wrapping paper is best on a cylinder bin.  This bin is from The Container Store.

Rainbow strips were made from origami paper to make stars with. I got these papers from Hong Kong.

I put all of my rainbow card stock inside a crate from Target.

Free Bunny Notes Printables

I made these note cards recently to give to my kiddos for easter.  I am attaching a Targer gift card inside for each along with a sweet note.  These are going to look super cute inside their baskets.  I printed a few extra blank ones for Kaylee.  She is so interested in letter writing these days which bring a smile to her stationery loving momma.  Happy Easter you guys and enjoy the freebie!

Instructions:  Print the bunny graphics on one side of your paper and then the lined graphics on the backside.  Cut and fold as noted and secure (if desired) with the pink square by adding a bit of glue onto it. I used card stock for these (which I prefer) but feel free to use text weight paper as well. The file does have 2 text boxes in which you can type small messages.  You may also choose to delete the sample text to leave blank. Use only Adobe Reader ® for these files for best results.

You will need Adobe Reader © (ONLY) to open, read and type inside the text boxes.  Other PDF readers may not work properly and may give you unexpected results. You can download Adobe Reader ® for free at

Files are free. For personal use only.  Enjoy!

New Holiday Rubber Stamps

I have uploaded a bunch of new holiday designs in the new rubber stamp shop.  If you are curious as to why there is a new shop JUST for rubber stamps, you can read more in this post.

One of my favorite items from this new collection are gift tag stamps!  Personalized rubber stamps to help you make gift tags.  Perfect for when you want to recycle a bunch of scrap paper you have laying around.  You an also ask to have the outline removed if you only want the sentiment to stamp.  Other designs include holiday address stamps!

In other news:  New office studio is almost ready!  Hoping to post new pics by the end of the year!  Why so long?  I have to cut about 100 paper hearts by hand to decorate it!  I also have been busy with tons of freelance work which has slowed down the studio set up.  Psst! Did you see the new Hello Kitty kitchen!  I was asked to help style it and can not wait to play with one with Kaylee!

Find all of these new rubber stamps in the Cute Rubber Stamps shop on Etsy.

New Rubber Stamp Shop on Etsy!

Hello everyone! I know…. it has been like forever!  I am busy setting up the new place including a brand new studio which I can not wait to show you pics of! One of the other big projects I have been working on is setting up a new rubber stamp shop on Etsy!  So why a new separate shop you ask? It has become pretty clear that organizing the rubber stamps into the current Paper Glitter Etsy shop was challenging. Etsy currently allows only 10 sections per store and most of the sections were being used  to categorize printable files. And with the additions of dozens of new designs, browsing is going to be a lot easier in the new shop’s sections. I think this will be a great place for the rubber stamps!  And since many of you have been asking for several themes and I can not keep up with the demand of making new art, we have decided to work closely with just a handful of vendors who offer wonderful licensed art that work great in the Paper Glitter world!  I will still illustrate most of the designs but it is awfully nice to have help! The new Etsy shop is also great for International customers buying outside of the U.S. since our online store’s shopping cart system currently only offers U.S. shipping.

I will be updating the new Rubber Stamp shop with old and new work in the next few weeks.  You can still find printables here.

If you have any suggestions for rubber stamp ideas let me know.  More updates on life, freelance work and the new home and studio to follow in the weeks to come.  It has been a wild few months and I am looking forward to the slow pace of Fall to get fully charged and organized !

Look who’s back!

Hello you guys!  YES I am still around!  :)

You may remember this post about us moving on Nov 2012.  It has taken THIS long to find a new house!  The real estate market in Miami was a lot tougher than we could have ever imagined.  Securing a home was nearly impossible due to the high influx of investors grabbing properties.  In fact our last property was purchased by one of those same investors which should have been a clue.  But finally–after searching so much we found a dream home and we are so excited!  During the last few months what turned out to be a “temporary” studio space of about 6 x 3 feet, became my creative space for 1 year and 8 months. It was so challenging considering I have always had a full room if not more as a creative space for work and my Paper Glitter projects.  This small space only allowed for 2 things since Nov 2012…. #1 Freelance work for the toy industry in which I developed several Hello Kitty toys including this one and these !  And #2, with the help of Junior (my husband) we were able to process and pack rubber stamp orders without a problem.  Printables took a break from the front burner due to the lack of space.  During this break I thought long and hard about if I should be in the business of making printables again due to all of the piracy that went on.

As I unpack and find wonderful crafting supplies which I have not seen in so long…. I feel energetic!  I look forward to a brand new space which will be 11 x 11 feet! I will be taking pics of the progress of the new studio and posting pics on Instagram. In fact below are a few insta glimpses of what I have been up to including opening a brand new sister shop that will have rubber stamps only. This new sister shop will allow better categorizing as we both plan to have hundreds and hundreds of designs available.  We have taken all of the categories allowed on Etsy to file printables so making a sister store will be very helpful.  And by the way–I am taking requests.  I have been asked to make halloween, cakes, and turtle themed stamps among other things so please feel free to suggest.

On printables: I am still open in making these.  I think they are wonderful ways to create amazing projects in a short amount of time for the customers that buy them.  I may get my feet wet first with a project or two after I settle down.  Do you think the printables trend has sort of gotten cold?  I must admit, between all of the things going on in the last year and a half  (freelance and so much house searching) I have been out of touch with the printables world.  Fill me in!

What else?  Little Kaylee is 5 and turning 6 soon!  Little J is 3.  Can you believe it?

Feel free to drop a note if you would like.  Kind of curious as to what all of you crafty people have been up to.

So ready to be back to my old self.  Missed that crafty girl so much.
